Bob and Becky first met at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma—fittingly, on the baseball field. During their time at ORU, they made the life-changing decision to put Jesus first in their lives. Because of that revelation, the grace of God has been evident in their marriage, their parenting, and their commitment to live their lives fully for the Lord.

The vision for Crossing Home Ministries traces back to 1985, when Bob was 19 years old.

The Lord impressed upon his heart the words of Habakkuk 2:2:

“Write my answer on a billboard, large and clear, so that anyone can read it at a glance and rush to tell others.”

From that moment, Bob felt called to:

“Play professional baseball successfully so I may glorify God in my actions. To be a light in a darkened world, uniting with other Christians to share God’s Word with players and people I encounter, showing them the victory they can have through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and how they too can be overcomers in this world—victorious!”

THE VISION

Bob committed himself to preparation—reading, praying, and meditating on God’s Word—so he could be strong in his walk with the Lord and ready for whatever trials and opportunities lay ahead.

His heart has always been to stand firm as an overcomer in Christ, to live and work faithfully in gratitude for Christ’s sacrifice, and to bless the Lord in all circumstances.

Bob’s baseball career reflected both talent and God’s providence. He was a two-time All-American at ORU and represented Team USA.

He earned MVP honors in a tournament in Caracas, Venezuela, where the U.S. defeated the Cuban national team. In that game, Bob hit two home runs and made a memorable catch to rob another.

In 1987, Bob was drafted by the Boston Red Sox with the 32nd overall pick. After playing in Elmira (NY), Lynchburg (VA), New Britain (CT), and Pawtucket (RI), he made his Major League debut on September 7, 1991.

A pivotal moment in his career came just before that, in July 1991.

After two and a half years of struggle, Bob considered leaving

the game. But God had different plans.

Through a Baseball Chapel leader in Columbus, Ohio,

Bob was introduced to a book about applying God’s Word to his game.

Learning to relax, trust the abilities God had given him, and play for the glory of Christ changed everything.

The pressure to perform for others’ expectations was gone—playing for Jesus brought true freedom.

Bob went on to play in the Major Leagues with the Boston Red Sox and the Chicago White Sox.

That experience opened doors for future ministry opportunities.

Today, through Crossing Home Ministries, Bob and Becky invite others to witness and experience the same grace of God through Jesus Christ that has transformed their own lives.

THE MISSION

At Crossing Home Ministries, baseball has been more than a game—it’s been a blessing and a lifelong journey. From t-ball fields to the bright lights of the major leagues, we’ve been grateful to experience the game at every level.

Along the way, we’ve learned lessons not just about athletic skill, but about discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and most importantly, faith.

Now, our passion is to give back by investing in the next generation of athletes and their families.

Through sports camps, clinics, team practices, group training, and one-on-one instruction, we focus on developing the physical, mental, and spiritual sides of the game. Fundamentals—both individual and team—are at the core of what we teach.

But our mission goes deeper than the field. We believe the same grace that carried us through our careers is available to every young athlete and family we serve.

We learned to play the game with freedom because we knew Jesus’ love for us and lived for Him as our only audience.

Our hope is to share that same freedom—so that every athlete can not only grow in skill, but also in confidence, purpose, and the knowledge that they are deeply loved by God.

We love to share the grace of Jesus Christ with athletes and their families through the power of sports, fellowship, and God’s Word.

Just as home plate signifies the goal and triumph in baseball, the Cross represents the greatest act of love and sacrifice—where Jesus gave His life to redeem us.

We help athletes of all ages discover their true identity in Christ.

We are committed to equipping athletes and families to build their lives on the foundation of faith, to honor God in all they do, and to experience the freedom of His grace both on and off the field.

Grounded in the truth of Scripture — that the gospel is the power of God for salvation (Romans 1:16–17) and that we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9) — we strive to inspire perseverance, teach sound doctrine, and proclaim that the cross changed everything.
